Bangladesh Bank adjusts Banking hours


Bangladesh Bank (BB) has restored its banking time in line with new cabinet allocation guidelines to halt the rise of Covid-19 in the country, the BSS says.

Banking will take place on July 15, 18 and 19 as normal at 10 a.m. at 4pm and the banks are open until 6pm according to BB’s circular published on Tuesday.
On 16 and 17 July, commercial banks in the industrial areas around the clothing factories will remain open to make it easier for employees working in Saint Eid-ul-Azha to pay wages and bonuses.

According to Round BB, bank branches such as Dhaka Metropolitan, Ashulia, Tong, Gazipur, Savari, Bhaluka, Narayanganji and Chattogram must remain open to ensure proper health and safety standards.
The banks are open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. M. at 3:30 PM M. on Friday and Saturday when banking time is 10:00 AM. M. at 2 pm M. July 25 – August 5 BB instructed all banks to operate on a limited basis during the strict closure.
